What We Offer
Here at Mission III Academy, we offer a hybrid approach to education where the teachers and parents work together to train up children intellectually and spiritually in cooperation with God's Mission to Love Him, Love Others and Serve Both, building a community of believers who are building the family by building the student.
We recognize that Jesus consistently sought out the overlooked and underprivileged while he lived here on earth in human form, so we too want to provide an opportunity that all families can afford which is why we pursue mission funding from churches, believers, businesses, and others to offset costs. This enables families to become part of the Mission III Family with an annual tuition rate of $700 per student by early enrollment and $800 after the early enrollment deadline of April 1 (High school cost is based on our fee schedule but average cost is similar to K-8 students if a student is not enrolled in dual credit courses through IECC).
Kindergarten-2nd
Our K-2 program utilizes Master Books as the core curriculum. Students meet two days a week on Mondays at Little Prairie Christian Church with Mrs. Mariah Eblin and helpers Ms. Jerri and Ms. Cara. Our main goal during the in-person instruction is to develop strong reading, writing, and math skills. Students will continue working throughout the week with parents, completing various tasks as directed by Ms. Mariah. MIIIA provides regular assessments and all academic record-keeping.
3rd-12th Grade
Our 3rd-8th grade students utilize a combination of various resources: Master Books, Story of the World, Mystery of History, Bible Recap, Abeka, Nicole the Math Lady, Dive Into Math, etc. Their coursework is a combination of completed homework, Friday Checks, Midterm Checks, and Quarter Checks.
High school students move into coursework developed by Ms. Lesa for History/English and other additional curriculum options, including dual-credit coursework. The high school program also offers an elective policy to tailor coursework to individual interests. Mrs. Lesa Shilling brings to the program numerous years as an honors English and History teacher in the public school system as well as an adjunct professor for local colleges. Students at this level can participate in PE and in-person electives on Tuesdays at Little Prairie Christian Church.
Other
Beyond our weekly interactions, we also offer monthly family events: Family Nights, Pumpkin Patch Field Trip, Annual Christmas Talent Show, Picnic Day, etc.
We also believe we are called to be on Mission for God's Kingdom, so serving others remains foundational for the Academy which means we provide opportunities to serve in our community: cleaning in our community or at Oil Belt Christian Service Camp, setting up the Nativity at the Albion square, etc.
We offer opportunities for our students so that they can continue to grow together as they grow closer to Christ. Our junior high and high school students have several opportunities for mission trips. 7th-12th grade students can apply to be part of our M3Lead team.
